Prep for Soda/sand blasting

Some progress:

All the windows are out except the windshield. Got to order ALL new rubber for the frames etc.

Went to start it and NADA. After a bit of checking I called it as being a bad starter. Took it off and ran down to AutoZone and sure'nuff, bad. It had a AutoZone tag on it and they gave me a new one FREE.

Got home with it and having stuffed a Chevy V8 with a starter or two in my life to say the least figured that in 30 min I would be golden.

3 hrs later of laying under the engine trying to STUFF the starter into the starter hole and get the bolt holes to line up I figured out WHY they bolt holes would not line up. The starter was hitting the bottom of the block and I could not rotate the starter (about 1/4 inch).

So I take the starter back to AZ they check part number and tell me that it fits. I tell them drag out the old one I brought in. With a ruler they measure it and sure enough its not the same width as the one I brought.

They give me a new one and before I leave we measure it. YEP, this one is ZACTLY the same, get home and 30 min later, starter is in.

But won't start...after some checking: Good battery, good connection to starter, but NO connection to ignition switch. Guess I pulled on a wire and some where I have lost a connection. Got to get out the circiut tester and track it down....more to follow.

Right now I am stripping it down to get ready to pull off the body for paint stripping.  Just using a pressure washer at this time.
