M-1 Springfield, 4 digit serial number probably saw service in WWII. Inspectors cartouche on the hand grip, cartouche from Red RIver Army Depot just below the receiver and rack # using white paint, these rarely last. Walnut wood, minor chip on lower edge of forward hand-guard. About 90+ % of finish, no rust and barrel is in excellent condition with no pitting or visible rust. I have never fired it.
